Training of trainers from and for research, creation, and knowledge production around the discourse, practices, and pedagogy of the arts.

Purposes

According to the mission and vision of the UPN and specifically of the bachelor’s degree, and in accordance with the principles of the academic activities as well as the distinctive features of the program, the following are defined as the purposes to train graduates in Visual Arts:

  • With ethical, aesthetic and political values that allow them to commit themselves as educators of the visual arts and dedicate themselves to the area of artistic and cultural education, with respect to the education of the visual arts, as fundamental in the formation of children and young people in the Colombian educational system.
  • Committed to the challenges that contemporary societies face in terms of visual art education, from their contributions to the constitution of subjects and construction of social structure.
  • The ability to generate educational, pedagogical and didactic proposals that, through visual arts education, have an impact on the transformation and cultural enrichment of the diverse contexts and population groups of Colombian society.
  • With solid theoretical and practical training that is at the same time flexible and interdisciplinary, about arts education, their pedagogies, and about visual arts education and its didactics
  • With an interest in exploring and reflecting on the various forms of artistic and visual expression and their educability and teachability.
  • With critical and investigative capacities that derive in the search for relevant and pertinent knowledge, from his professional work as a visual arts educator.
